DOOR INSULATION USING PURENITE

Did you know that up to 40 percent of the heat from your home escapes through windows and doors? It's not just their incorrect seating or bad sealing, inappropriate, insufficient or too old insulation can also be to blame.

If you have chosen an entrance or balcony door in accordance with the latest requirements for thermal insulation properties, in order to achieve a low-energy or passive standard, you also need to pay attention to their base. More modern materials, such as purenit, are replacing the previously often used underlay made of blocks.

HEAVIER DOORS REQUIRE NEW MATERIALS

The trend of increasing the size of windows and glass surfaces was also reflected in doors. The classic size of 80 x 197 cm is replaced by taller, wider and heavier variants, and the popularity of HS portals, which often weigh more than 1,000 kg, is growing.

However, the classic sole can hold a maximum of 150 kg, with a higher load it crumbles and so-called "sits", which brings with it a number of problems. Another option is to use concrete, but it requires demanding preparation and can crack in winter. The ideal solution is a base material that can withstand high loads and temperatures, does not swell, does not crack, is resistant to moisture and limits the formation of thermal bridges. You guessed it right, we are talking about purenity.

WHAT IS IT REALLY ABOUT?

Simply put: purenite is a board made of ecologically recycled material with excellent insulating properties in various thicknesses and lengths, which is inserted under doors or portals. The board prevents thermal bridges and the penetration of cold into the interior. This helps to prevent the door from freezing, unwanted water condensation and associated mould.

This material is excellent for connecting infills with building openings and perimeter masonry with the foundation in the foundation joint. Perfect connection is ensured by milled grooves and polymer glue. You can safely install vapor barriers and waterproofing on purenit to achieve the necessary thermal and moisture insulating properties.

Purenit boards are cut to size according to the required dimensions. However, if necessary, they can be easily adjusted at home. If you are interested in more detailed information or want advice, contact our experts who will suggest the optimal solution.
